廿一世紀的科技，以滿足人類對生活福祉及舒適便利之需求為其終極理想。這理念因而刺激了資訊網路通訊科技與建築、藝術與人文技術之整合。期望從資訊科技之成果，融合建築結構之設計概念，以符合人文藝術及社會心理之空間概念需求，建構安全舒適與健康自然的人類生活環境。因此，2008年數位生活科技研討會的主題將定位為“人本智慧生活科技”之跨領域科技整合。本著「人本．創意．智慧」之核心理念，期望藉由研討會論壇，促進建築、社科及資訊網路科技及人文藝術等跨領域之整合，將技術的發展融入建築設計之空間概念，人性關懷之產品設計，及生活情境之考量，創造智慧化的人性生活空間，落實優質生活環境所需之基礎、前瞻、與創新應用研究。啟動生活科技的創意於Web 2.0網路平台之討論，形成跨領域之社群創新模式，藉由整合平台來培育次世代的跨領域科技人才，為我國願景導向生活產業科技之推動奠基。研討會中並將提供人本智慧生活科技論壇，以啟動產學研合作之機制，共同促進生活科技之設計及研發能力。
